The veeprop photo guide.

Taking the photographs – your quick step guide.

What you’ll need:

- A standard tripod
- A digital camera with at least 6MP quality

For those wanting to create full 360 by 180 tours, contact us for the full list of equipment you’ll need.

Step 1: Choose a location in the room / outside space that you would like people to view, try standing in that location and turning around.  Does it look OK?  Are you able to see everything without obstruction?  Perfect.

Step 2: Place your camera on the tripod.  Refer to your equipments user guide if necessary, although it is fairly straight forward to do.

Step 3: Ensure the camera is level.  Using a spirit level helps with this.  View the image through the viewfinder (or using the cameras LCD display) and ensure you are happy with the starting point.

Step 4: Take the first photo.  It is easier to leave your camera on ‘AUTO’ for every photograph.  We will touch up the images when we receive them.  However, make sure you have your flash off.

Review that photograph;  are you happy with it?  If so, rotate the camera until you have around 15% overlap with the last shot.   This ensures there is enough overlap for us to stitch the shots together.

You’ll end up with something similar to below, although dependent on your camera, you may have more or less photos.

an example of a row of taken photos

Step 5: Carry on taking a shot, then rotating until 15% of the previous photo is in frame (creating that overlap we need).  When you reach the position you started at, take one last shot just to be safe.  It is likely this last shot will have more than a 25% overlap, but this doesn’t matter.

Final step: Now that you have your images, you can upload them using your myvee area on our site.  Simply login (or sign-up, it’s free!) and start creating your projects.

The example below is a user submitted tour, using one of our free skins and the use of the clients logo positioned in the top left.  A simple and quick tour created within 24 hours of the images being taken!
